7 Sites You Should Be Wasting Time On Right Now:... →
The Huffington Post ran this piece today.  Three out of the seven featured sites are on Tumblr.  I’d say that’s about right, statistically.  Almost 50% of the internet should be on Tumblr right now. Congrats to Fancy Fast Food, Fuck Yeah Neil Patrick Harris, and Best of Wikipedia for all making the list.

Have all of the great technology companies already been created? Not even close, insists Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO. The only thing for certain in the future of technology is its dynamism, and that the names and the players are always changing. Ballmer points to smart displays and better human-computer interaction as future areas of exploration. He credits software with having impact...

Craigslist and The Future of VC
Bill Gurley wrote an excellent post yesterday on what is happening to the venture capital industry.  His “punch line” is that: …as these large institutions [LPs] adjust their portfolios and potentially abandon these more aggressive strategies, the amount of overall capital committed to alternative assets will undoubtedly shrink. As this happens, the VC industry will shrink in kind. How much will...

Nosaj Thing Visual Show Compilation Test Shoot - “The live show for Nosaj Thing, a collaboration with Julia Tsao. Video clips are the formatted for mixing in Modul8. Each clip belongs to a certain part of a song. We triggered and manipulated each clip live with 2 midi controllers.” This is quite the light show.  Kudos to the brains behind it.

Lloyd Blankfein Calls Matt Taibbi's Goldman... →
“We knew Goldman Sachs was frustrated by Matt Taibbi’s much discussed take-down of the bank in Rolling Stone this summer. Goldman personally told us the piece was a ‘witches’ brew of conspiracy theories’ and a well-connected source tipped TBI that Goldman discussed suing the journalist (they didn’t, of course). But now, we hear from CEO Lloyd Blankfein himself....

Bank Robbers' Hours →
“According to the FBI’s recently released second quarter Bank Crime statistics, bank robbers are most likely to rob a bank between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday; more robbers stated their demands verbally than by passing a note, and only 4 percent of incidents involved violence. The FBI also noted that, despite the recession, there were fewer bank robberies than last year.” (via...

How To Go To MIT For Free →
I love this.  Almost all of MIT’s coursework is available on their website FOR FREE.  Hundreds of undergraduate and graduate classes - lectures, assignments, tests, etc. - are accessible to the general public.  I’ve downloaded ~10 business school classes already and the resources are incredible.  Anyone want to start a mock B-School?
