People who claim that Obama is a communist don’t understand what communism is. People who claim that Obama is a socialist don’t understand what socialism is. People who claim that Obama is a fascist don’t understand what fascism is. People who claim that Obama is a Muslim don’t understand what Islam is. And people who support the Republicans because they’re capitalists don’t understand what capitalism is.
This is sad. These people are so lost. This isn’t a matter of right vs. left, Republican vs. Democrat, Conservative vs. Liberal. This is a matter of plain old stupidity. I don’t think it’s political, religious, or moral differences that inhibit this country - those can be and have been reconciled for centuries. The nation’s biggest obstacle is ignorance - people who are incapable of thinking for themselves - and that is sad.
